Owner / Operator Business does SSIP affect me?

Over the last few months we have been contacted by an increased number of companies where only the owner is an employee. They have been working with clients for a number of years and have now been asked to have an SSIP certificate.

Unfortunately it is applicable to owner operators as SSIP is a 3rd party assessment of your Health & Safety and clients are now having this as a requirement for you to remain on the supplier list. SSIP is an umbrella group so there are a number of accreditations that you can get under this.

We have helped a large number of clients gain one of these accreditations and our recommendation to owner / operators would be to go for the CHAS accreditation.

  • The fee for CHAS to carry out the assessment for you paperwork the prices range from £279 + vat. You can either supply the paperwork yourself or employ a consultant like ourselves to help you get your paperwork in order to be assessed.

If you need any Further advice please get in touch or call us direct on 0800 031 5404
