CHAS Standards
What is the CHAS Standard?
The thresholds for achieving CHAS compliance are applied by a certified CHAS assessor, according to their legal or best practice standard. The level your company must achieve to become compliant will differ depending on a number of factors.
You can download the latest standards from CHAS by clicking the following link:

The Application Form
- Appendix 2 - For designers, CDM-C's or if you employ 5 or more people.
- Appendix 2a - For sole traders or companies employing fewer than 5 people.
- Appendix 2b - For care service providers.
- Group or other scheme - This will depend on the scheme being applied for.
The Assessment Process
Once you have completed your application and submitted it to a CHAS assesor, it will be assessed against the standards above. If you are successful your company will be deemed compliant and placed on the CHAS database for a period of 2 years, after which time you will be required to submit a fresh application to remain compliant.
Becoming CHAS Accredited
Once you have achieved your CHAS Compliance, you will be asked if you want to become CHAS Accredited. This will give you the option of using the CHAS logo and signage on stationary and vehicles but comes at an addtional cost and must be renewed on an annual basis as opposed to every 2 years.
